# Verdact

Verdact is a merchant-controlled, AI-assisted dispute resolution and chargeback defense platform built specifically for B2B SaaS, agencies, consultants, and service businesses using Stripe.

## Why Verdact Exists

Traditional chargeback tools rely on "black-box autopilot" that automatically logs into processor portals and submits raw system logs. This approach fails for high-context service and SaaS disputes (such as Visa 13.x service-not-provided or MC 4837 disputes). 

Verdact restores merchant control:
1. **No Autopilot Submission:** Nothing goes out to Stripe without the merchant’s explicit review and approval.
2. **Free During Beta:** Verdact is currently in open beta and free to use. Post-beta pricing has not launched publicly yet.
3. **Evidence Over Raw Logs:** Instead of dump-filing raw DB logs, Verdact synthesizes structured evidence arguments centered around project scope, delivery proof, and customer acceptance.

## Core Design Patterns

* **Chain of Intent:** A structure that connects the contract/scope document to the work-delivery activity log, and finally to the client’s explicit approval or sign-off. This chain is the only evidence that consistently wins service chargebacks.
* **Dual-Layer Architecture:** Automates the collection of background signals (Identity, Activity, Network, App Metadata, Payment details) while providing a calm, progressive-disclosure Evidence Workbench where the merchant reviews the final package before filing.
